As the proud owner of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle and a member of National Harley Owners Group®, you are eligible to join the Long Island H.O.G. Chapter.

The Harley Owners Group is the only factory-sponsored organization for owners of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. With over a million members and over 1,000 chapters around the world, it is the largest motorcycle club in the world.

The Long Island H.O.G. Chapter was founded in 1985. In 2005 we celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a party in Montauk. Our mission statement is simple....

RIDE & HAVE FUN

L.I.H.O.G. Chapter members receive a membership card which needs to be presented at all rides and activities. This card entitles you to purchase chapter accessories available only to members, such as a chapter T-shirts, patches and pins.

Long Island H.O.G. holds monthly Breakfast Meetings, usually on the first Sunday of each month. Rides and activities are planned in conjunction with the meetings, as well as throughout the riding season.

Members receive the chapter newsletter which is published approximately 9 times a year. The newsletter keeps everyone informed about scheduled rides and activities, provides riding safety tips and shares member camaraderie through photographs of past events.

Your chapter membership runs from January 1st to December 31st unless you join after September 1st. Those who join after September 1st are carried over to the following year. Associate membership is designed primarily for passengers and family members of a full H.O.G. member.

Remember that you need to be a member of the National Harley Owners Group® to join the Long Island Harley Owners Group. This includes associate members.

Go to our web sit www.longislandhog.com, download a chapter membership application form and mail along with yearly dues to the below address:

L.I.H.O.G.
P.O. Box 732
Setauket, NY 11733

You will receive a membership card, newsletter and introductory material as soon as your application is processed and approved.

From the Director

The next best thing to owning and riding a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is sharing the experience with your extended family of Harley riders. As Director of the Long Island Harley Owners Group, I want to offer you a personal welcome to our web pages and an invitation to join our chapter for some of the most fun you will ever have on two wheels.

We are a very active group with something for everyone. If you are looking for someone to ride with, we have regular group rides that lead to exciting destinations across the North East. We have monthly meetings where you can get to know other members, win prizes and pick up the latest on chapter activities.

We organize and participate in many special events throughout the year including rallies, charity rides, parties and rider education forums. Your membership in the chapter also provides an opportunity to receive discounts on merchandise from Suffolk County Harley-Davidson.

Whether you are a new Harley® bike rider or an experienced H.O.G. road warrior, you will benefit from belonging to our chapter. So please take a look at our web pages, come to a meeting and remember, it's all about being safe and having fun!

Benefits

By joining Long Isalnd H.O.G. you'll be opening the door to a whole new level of involvement. Organizing a wide variety of activities for members and guests alike is how the chapter makes sure you'll always have plenty of opportunities to ride and have fun. (The consumption of mass quantities of great food and riding are often a central theme!)

If you are new to motorcycle group riding and are nervous, no worries. Long Island H.O.G. has members with all skill levels and years of experience. You can be paired with a seasoned rider or Road Captain to coach you along and help you develop your skills.

Your involvement in chapter activities can really pay off. The sponsoring dealer, Suffolk County Harley-Davidson offers incredible savings on parts and accessories to those that attend rides, meetings, and volunteer for chapter/dealership events.

Above all, Long Island H.O.G. is a family. A collection of diverse individuals united by a common passion.

But remember, you have to be a National H.O.G.® member to join the Long Island chapter. So join National H.O.G. (if you haven't already), fill out a L.I. H.O.G. chapter application (click the link above) and drop it off at Suffolk County Harley-Davidson or at one of the monthly meetings. Then join the family and get to a chapter event.

After all, no one understands you like family.

Vol

Our chapter is sponsored by Long Island's oldest Harley-Davidson dealer, Suffolk County Harley-Davidson. Occasionally, Suffolk County hosts special events, Open House with music & food offering to their customers an afternoon of fun and festivities. These events draw quite a large crowd and require the coordination of dozens of people to ensure the greatest success...it's vital that L.I H.O.G. members support our dealer through volunteering at these events.

Being an event volunteer isn't all work and no play. It offers an opportunity to fellowship with other H.O.G. members and guests, to promote Suffolk County Harley-Davidson and the H.O.G. chapter, to see other bikes, and to have an enjoyable afternoon.

H.O.G. members also support the chapter by attending monthly meetings, leading or sweeping group rides, as well as taking part in any other L.I H.O.G. function.

But it doesn't stop there. The H.O.G. chapter developed the Volunteer H.O.G. program whereby members earn points for volunteering at events and leading or sweeping rides. Accrue enough points and members are awarded with a patch and recognition at our monthly meetings and in the L.I. H.O.G monthly newsletter.

This is Suffolk County's way of saying thank you to those that contribute to the success of Suffolk County Harley-Davidson and the H.O.G. chapter, offering members the appreciation they deserve.
